I have slowly been getting back into woodworking. My next project is going to be an Entry Table which will sit under a mirror in the entryway of our home. I built the mirror out of Cherry wood three years ago. So, the table will be out of Cherry as well to match.
I just don’t have the gift of being able to design the stuff I build from scratch. I envy people that do. I need a good set of plans and then I am good to go. Finding some table plans has been quite a journey.
Most of the tables that I looked at were just too large. They stuck out from the wall too far for our entry way. Some of them were constructed of construction lumber and were just very crude design.
I finally found a table that both Carol and I can agree on. Here is a photo of what it is supposed to look like.

Hopefully, I can come close to this finished product. It is much thinner than other ones and has a very simple, clean design. I have all the tools required to do this project. I just have to afford the Cherry wood. Like everything else, wood prices have gone through the rood these days. Hardwood prices have always been high, but they are higher now. I might have to buy some of the wood one month and get the remainder the next month to fit into our budget.
This should be a nice Winter project. I cannot do as much in one shop visit as I used to do, but I can get this done by Spring I am sure of it. Looking forward to doing some woodworking again.
