If you’ve been in the USA for a while, you probably think things are a bit of a mess right now. After all, you likely grew up in the 50s and 60s when things were wonderful. So, when things get tough, we all wish things were like the good old days. But here’s the thing:
If we hope to go back to the past, we’ll end up making the same mistakes that got us here! We have all sorts of technology and other advancements in our current situation. The best thing to do is to use all the good stuff we have now to make a better future. A better future than the 50s and 60s, and better than the mess we’re in right now. We can do better than that for our country, communities, and families.
Sure, we have to change the current system to some extent, but that’s not impossible. If you and I have good, realistic ideas, we just need to work to make them happen, to live them out. We can definitely do this within our families, churches, and maybe even our local communities. Perhaps not so much nationally, but over time, if families are doing the right things and living the right way, this will trickle up to the state and federal levels. We just have to be consistent with it all.
We can learn from the past, but we can’t build the future with the past. The future is unknown, it’s new. It’s a great opportunity to build better in all sorts of areas of life, from health and finances to the environment and many others. We have fond memories of the “good old days.” Now, we have to make good new memories going forward.
