Now that we are into Winter, all the leaves are off our trees. Not Pines, of course, but most of our other trees. Because you can see the tree structure better, this is a great time to trim off succors and other branches. For most of this work, I use a pair of loppers. However, our yard is 25 years old, which means that some of our vegetation has gotten large.
For the larger branches and trim, I purchased an Ego chain saw. Here is what that looks like.
The battery fits underneath the handle grip area. It is the same battery that fits many of my other Ego tools. It is fairly noisy, but then most chainsaws are. Furthermore, it works quite well, but it is not for going out in the woods and cutting a cord of wood. This saw really is meant for light yard or ranch work.
I used the saw today to cut the larger suckers on our Ash trees. It works like a charm. There is a chain adjustment and a place for chain oil. Just like on a gas operated chainsaw. It is so nice to not have to mess with all the gas and gas-can stuff.
