I like the Apple Magic Mouse. It works well, but it does have some limitations. There are no buttons, you just use gestures on the top of the mouse. This is cool, but can be difficult at times. So, I decided to try the Logitech MX 3 Mechanical Mouse. 1
Here is what that mouse looks like.

It has a nice ergonomic posture. It feels good in your hand. As you can see, it has several buttons. You can configure the buttons using the LogiOptions+ software. I have used the mouse for a while now, and I really like it. I miss being able to swipe using the Magic Mouse, but the overall functionality of the MX Mouse makes up for it. But, a major problem has developed.
It seems Logitech “forgot” to update the certificate for the LogiOptions+ software in macOS. The software stopped working. This is what I call “stupid in public”. This caused the MX Mouse to malfunction. Logitech created an installation of the software that was supposed to resolve these issues. I have installed the fix, which has not fixed anything.
At this point, I am hoping Logitech creates a new version of their software so I can get my MX Mouse working again. Until then, it is a nice looking paper weight.
