If you own a home, you will become somewhat adept at home maintenance. It is great if someone can afford home repair people for everything, but who can actually do that, not many of us.¹ I am not saying I am the greatest repair person, but eventually you get some stuff right. There are always YouTube videos!

One of the things I do at our house is painting. I would not attempt to paint the whole house, probably hire a professional for that. But, I do a fair amount of touch-up painting.

Case in point, the railing on our front porch. It has not been painted for many years and it shows. It is just a railing with a bunch of vertical pickets. I have painted it in the past by hand, but the best way is to use a paint sprayer. If you are painting a bunch of railing pickets, the sprayer is the only way to go to get paint everywhere.

I have a cheap paint sprayer from Amazon. I am not good enough to buy an expensive paint sprayer, hence the cheap model. The hard part about spraying is the preparation work. You have to tape stuff off and do some other preparation. The spraying is fairly fast when you actually do it.

If you own a home, then some maintenance is inevitable. You may not become as adept as a professional person, but with a little work you can make repairs adequately, save yourself a lot of money and learn new things. 😊
