I am trying a new blogging App called iA Writer. It is a general writing App that can publish articles to different formats including WordPress. The WordPress publishing feature is a bit cumbersome. The App publishes a Draft of your article to WordPress. Then, it makes you login to the article in the WordPress Editor to review and publish to your blog. Not quite as efficient as publishing to your blog directly, but it does work.

iA Writer has a Focused Writing feature that allows you to blank out the rest of the Desktop. I am not some prolific writer at all, but it is nice to be able to direct your focus to the article you are working on without distractions.

The App can perform several different grammar checks along with features to improve your writing style. It really is an App for writers. I don’t really fall into that category, but any improvements are welcome, if not for my readers sake.

There are tons of writing tweaks in the various menus. There is not enough time to cover them all. If you are interested, just go their website and look through the features. The App is not free, but if you do a fair amount of writing, it may be worth the cost. I think there is a 14 day trial as well, so you can see if it works for you.

The test for me is to see how the iPad OS version of the App works. If it works reasonably well, I may be switching my blogging to iA Writer.
