Blogging Software
As previously mentioned, there are several things that I like to do with a computer that involve software you do not find on the Linux OS. One of those things is blogging. There is just no Desktop blogging software on Linux. The macOS, on the other hand, has several excellent blogging Apps. The ones that I use the most are Ulysses and MarsEdit for posting to my WordPress blogs. You can find many others in the App Store.
If you blog in Linux OS, you pretty much have to use some type of online service to create your posts, especially if you are using WordPress. This is not all bad, but it can be awkward. The WordPress editor is very difficult to use. I have tried it, but it just is not a seamless experience. There is Blogger and other online services that work. But, nothing works as well for me as creating blog posts in an App on my Mac, then posting them to one of my WordPress blogs. It is a really fun writing experience.
All you have to do with these Desktop Apps is setup your blog credentials, tweak a few settings and start posting. Some of them even have an iPad version which is cool.
Currently, I am writing this post in the Ulysses App. It is a writing App for different formats, but it also allows posting to online blogs which is very cool.
If you are using Linux OS, blogging is not a lost cause. You can create your articles online. But, nothing is as seamless and easy to use as a high quality Desktop App.
