Estes Park
Just got back from a few days in Estes Park, Colorado. It is a very touristy place, but also lots of fun. Estes Park is about 2 ½ hours from our house. It sits at the base of Rocky Mountain National Park. We always go up into the park a couple of times. There is a lot to see. Here is a photo of Bear Lake, a very popular tourist destination.

We usually stay at the Deer Crest Resort. That probably sounds pretty fancy, but it is an older hotel and sits on Fall River. It is a very pastoral, relaxing place. This is the view from the back deck right outside our room.

We like going up into the Park, but we like just sitting on the back deck of the hotel and watching the river run by also.
We had a great time up there. If we could afford it, we would probably go there twice a year, but it is a little costly for us retired folks.
If you ever get in and around the Denver area, it is just a day trip to Estes Park. It is definitely worth your time to go there, lots of fun and things to see.
