This is just my take from my personal experience over the last 78 years. Your experience may be different. I have had a handful of close friends over the years. Most of the close ones have come after I became a Christian in 1978. That is when I was given the opportunity for a close relationship with THE man, Jesus Christ. By the way, when I say a handful, I mean you can count them on one hand.

I am not talking about having a few beers with the boys or seeing people in a church or other event. I mean men that you are close to for whatever reason. It may be spiritual issues, work issues or maybe you just have an interest in the same hobbies. Whatever the reason(s), you just hit it off and develop a close, long-lasting relationship.

The ladies, on the other hand, seem to be able to have all kinds of close friends. They are just more out going. That is just how it seems to work with them. The Creator made men and women different and we are all blessed because of it!

I am grateful for these close relationships. I think they are a gift from God. They are a real blessing. As a man, if you have a close relationship with another guy, cherish it and enjoy it. Those kind of relationships do not come about often in life.
