One of the reasons I came back to macOS from Linux OS was available software. There are more choices of good software on the Mac and iOS platform than in Linux.
For me, that involves email Apps, blogging Apps and database Apps. I should throw in the Photos App which has become sophisticated.
There are several good email Apps to choose from on macOS. Here is a list of a few:
- Mail App
- Spark Mail
- eM Client Mail
- Airmail
- Edison Mail
- Canary Mail
There are several others, those are the most popular. Currently, I am using Spark Desktop Mail 1 with eM Client as a backup.
You know the Apps that I use for blogging. I vacillate between Ulysses, iA Writer and Mars Edit. They are all good Apps with great features.
There are several database Apps available in macOS. I prefer to use Panorama X from Provue Development. You could use the FileMaker Pro App if you preferred Apple. I use the Ninox Database App which is housed online.
The Linux OS does not have any good email Apps. There are a few Apps there, but nothing compares to macOS. There are no Desktop blogging Apps that I am aware of. There is one database App that is horrible to use. This pushed me back into macOS. Linux OS is great for many people. It has many Apps, but not the ones I need.
