I have been working on getting the Ulysses and iA Writer Apps to sync with the iPadOS versions. So far, I have not had success. Both Apps are supposed to sync articles between both platforms, but as far as I can determine, neither one works. At least, they don’t work with my systems. I am running all the latest operating systems on all my devices.

I contacted the Ulysses people a while back about not syncing with iCloud and my iPad. They gave me some things to try to make it work, but they were not successful. Finally, one of their tech people told me they were working on using a different cloud service than iCloud. That sounded good until I discovered they had been working toward using a different cloud service for the past few years. So, who knows when all that will be implemented.

You may be wondering why this is such a big deal. Here is the workflow that I would like to use if everything worked properly. I usually write articles on my iMac. Occasionally, I review the article online while using my iPad and see a problem. So, I like to edit the article on my iPad, which is typically in front of the TV in the living room. I cannot do that now because there is no iCloud online sync. You can sync articles between devices. But, when I update an aritcle on the iPad, it does not update the original aritcle on the WordPress blog.

The bottom line is this. I still prefer writing in the Ulysses App over anything else. If I can get the iA Writer iPad App to sync, I may consider switching. But, until things change, I am sticking with Ulysses.
