During my last years as a police officer, we shot our pistols at the range about once a month. We did different kinds of training, but the department had us out there shooting at least once a month. It was excellent training, I enjoyed it. Occasionally, I was required to run the range for all the officers.
When I went to civilian life, I continued shooting pistols here in Colorado Springs. I am a member of an indoor range. I still shoot once a month, except for December. The month of December is just too busy.
I shot today at the range. I was almost finished, when somebody came in with a high-powered rifle. Those things are loud! He was in the lane next to me. At that point, I hurried through what I was doing and got out of there. The sound of pistols is loud enough. Rifles are another lever altogether.
