UFO’s are all the rage these days. If you brought up UFO’s and space aliens a few years ago, you would be considered a total wacko. Increasingly, I think some people have come to the belief there is more to this world than the material realm. They are searching for something more. They are searching for answers. God did create us as spiritual beings, not just material. In the overall scheme of things, there are really only two answers out there.
The most common answer these days is that there really are UFO’s and space aliens. It is the materialist answer, someone who does not believe in the supernatural realm. They believe that if they cannot touch it, then it does not exist.
A less common understanding of these things comes from Christian people. It is based on the supernatural realm. There are variations of this paradigm, but it is based on the belief that these interactions with aliens are occult. These interactions are with evil, spirit beings. Some people might call them demons, but whatever tag you put on them, they are supernatural. They always lead people away from the truth of God’s word, away from trusting in God’s word as ultimate reality. They offer special, god-like knowledge, just like Satan did to Eve in Genesis.
Here is the bottomline in all this. Basic assumptions determine which way they will go regarding UFO’s and space aliens (and many other topics). If they are materialistic, then they will lean toward a materialistic explanation. If they are a spiritual, bible based person, they will be at least aware of the supernatural realm and open to that type of explanation.
I highly recommend a great book by Gary Bates called, Alien Intrusion,if you with to look into this. It is well worth your time. It is based on Biblical reality, and explains a lot about alien phenomena. 1

- Just as an aside, it is helpful to realize that everyone makes assumptions about things. A person’s basic starting assumptions about something can greatly influence where they end up on an area of thought or subject. ↩
