I moved from using the Linux OS exclusively back to macOS about a year ago. I just missed several good Apps that I was used to in the area of email and publishing blog articles. I would probably have to include banking Apps in that category as well.
The thing is this. Linux is the “we the people” operating system. It is not controlled by any major tech entity. People from all over the world work on it, so there is an international, non-political influence. I can survive on Linux with the available software. The various Linux distributions run just fine. It has always been what software is available and versus what your needs are.
I moved back to the Mac for the software and a couple of other conveniences. However, I still keep a hand in the Linux world. I run two Linux computers in my office, across from my Mac. I use them for various functions, but they are not mission-critical machines. I just want to keep a hand in the Linux world. It really is the most private operating system and it is free. If I ever need to go back to using Linux exclusively, I can do it.
