If you own a home, you are a repair person. You might be OK for the first two years of a new home, but eventually you will be doing repairs. If you are wealthy, you can hire workers to do things, but regular people end up doing it themselves.
I have owned homes for 40 years. I have done all kinds of repairs. Yes, I have hired people at times, but have done many things myself. It does save you money.
When it comes to repairs these days, Youtube can be helpful. In the old days we asked our friends and family. Now, it is Youtube. I have used it many times to fix things around the house.
Regarding home repairs, the thing I dislike the most is plumbing. I have done all kinds of fixes, but plumbing, to me, is the worst. I am getting older, but I continue to fix things around the house.
If you are going to buy a home, be prepared to repair things. It goes with home ownership. Don’t be afraid, Youtube is your friend. I have learned a lot watching videos there.
