You could invest a lot in fancy weather stations, but here, we’re not into that. We’re more interested in keeping an eye on the essentials. A simple setup is usually enough, so we often choose Acurite weather stations. They have a range of models available at reasonable prices.
Our Acurite weather station gave up the ghost recently, so I decided to get another one. After checking out their latest offerings, I ordered a similar model. Getting it set up was a breeze—it only took about 20 minutes to get it all working. Here’s a peek at the new station:
The new display that sits in our house is much brighter than the old one. The old station lasted about 10 years which is quite good for this quality of product. This is not a high end product. Someone that tracks weather as a hobby would have more sophisticated equipment that costs much more money.
We’re not too worried about the weather, but we’d appreciate knowing the general situation and what to anticipate.
